Abstract:
Measurements of electric.Field dependence of conductivity of semiconductor thin Films are very important in understanding the electrical characteristics of these materials. In these measurements it is necessary to use a chamber whose temperature can be kept constant For a desired period of time. In this thesis, design and construction of an environmental chamber enabling electrical and electro-optic measurements are considered, andspecial emphasis is given on platinum resistance thermometry and temperature control. Power dissipation type temperature control is employed, and fully electronic temperature control is accomplished in two stages. Temperature excursions are 0.5 °C at the most in the temperature range of -190 °C to 600 °C.
