This thesis focuses on the anonymous Sûrnâme, which was written about the wedding and festival organized on the occasion of the marriage of Mihrimah Sultan, daughter of Mahmud II, to Mehmed Said Pasha in 1836. The starting point of this thesis is that this work is the only one that has not been translated among the nineteen works found in the surname field. Therefore, the main purpose of this thesis is to reveal the transliterated text of the work and to problematize the relationship between them by comparing it with the other work Sûrnâme-i Lebîb, which tells about the marriage wedding. Accordingly, in the first part of the study, information about the type of surname and the works produced in this field are presented. In the second part, while focusing on the content of the anonymous Sûrnâme, which constitutes the main subject of this study, on the other hand, ideas about the stylistic features of the work are suggested. When it comes to the third part, two works written about the same ceremony, Sûrnâme whose author is unknown and Sûrnâme-i Lebîb are examined in a comparative way and the similarity relationship between them is questioned. In the fourth chapter, along with the presentation of the copy of the anonymous work, the methods followed in determining the text are listed and the transcription text is revealed after the transcription alphabet is given. The fifth chapter consists of the conclusion part, in which the thesis study is summarized in general terms. |
