dc.description.abstract SANAEM(Saraykoy Nuclear Research and Training Center) Project Prometheus aims to build a Radio Frequency Quadrupole (RFQ) for accelerating protons as a proof of principle machine. This project, supported by Turkish Atomic Energy Authority, has been designed to have at least a proton beam of 1mA of current and the nal energy of 1-5 MeV at the end of the RFQ and will be about 4 meters long including beam diagnostic box. A water-cooled multi cusp H+ ion source is expected to have < 1 mm.mrad of emittance. In this thesis, the reason and methods for measuring the emittance after the proton source and at the Low Energy Beam Transport are presented.
