In this thesis, an integrated circuit realizing M-Band wavelet transfqrm and its perfect reconstruction (PR) counter part is designed. Although M is taken as 4 in the design, the M-Band Wavelet Transform has all four filters.implemented with only one filter by the help of the shuffling property. With this method, it is possible to realize a VLSI design for the M-Band Wavelet Transform. The circuit is designed to process 8-bit input signals. So, the filter has 8x8 signed multipliers and 16 bit full adders. After synthesis and optimization of the circuit, which was designed in a fully hierarchical manner in VHDL, its schematic diagram is obtained. From the schematic diagram, the chip layout of the circuit is created. The circuit was designed, synthesized, optimized, simulated and its Ie layout was created and prepared for Ie processing by using the :Mentor Graphics v.8.4.l tools running on a Sun Sparc2 workstation. In the design, EuroPractice ES2 1 um CMOS target technology is used. |
